Karlovy Vary lies in a green valley of the river Teplá (meaning "Warm") and its setting alone gives it an atmosphere of beauty and peace. The healing powers of the local springs have been tested by such greats as by the Russian Tsar Peter the Great and German poet Goethe. Karlovy Vary also became famous thanks to the local manufacturing of world renowned Moser crystal, Carlsbad porcelain or the herb liqueur Becherovka. Day 4

Prague - Budapest

Buffet Breakfast Check-out from the hotel. Train from Prague to Budapest (included). Transfer to your hotel and check in. Rest of the day free. Architecturally, Budapest is a real treasure, with enough baroque, neoclassical, eclectic and art nouveau buildings to satisfy even the most demanding traveler. It’s also known for its thermal baths. Overall, though, Budapest has a fin-de-siècle feel to it, for it was then, during the capital’s “Golden Age”, that most of what you see today was built. The neo-Gothic Parliament, is the biggest buil-ding in Hungary containing amongst others the Hungarian Crown Jewels. At the Castle Hill and the Castle District there are three chur-ches, six museums, and a host of nice buildings, streets and squares. In the evening transfer to the famous Restaurant Mátyás Pince. Ope-ned in 1904, Mátyás Pince is a place with history. Its menu represents respect for the traditions of Hungarian cuisine and the use of quality ingredients. The completely revamped restaurant makes your eve-ning complete with regular, free entertainment, including Gypsy mu-sic, folklore and operetta shows. Overnight in Budapest.
Day 5

Budapest

Buffet Breakfast. Enjoy a half day grand City tour of Budapest (approx. 3 hours). You will see the Heroes Square, the State Opera House, the Hungarian Parliament, the Royal Palace and the Citadel (photostop). During the city tour you will be able to walk in the Castle District to enjoy its unique medieval atmosphere and get carried away in history. The Tour ends at Hotel InterContinental. Free after-noon. It would be worth coming to Budapest just to sample the café culture. The Hungarian Café culture goes back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Out of the 500 Budapest coffee houses the New York Café was the most elegant and popular at the turn of the 20th century. There's a lot more to Hungarian food than goulash, and it remains one of the most sophisticated styles of cooking in Europe. In the evening transfer to the Bor La Bor restaurant (Bor La Bor, mea-ning ‘wine lab’ is true to its name). The “Bor La Bor” unites the tradi-tional atmosphere of wine-drinking and civilised hospitality. Suited to the characteristic atmosphere of the wine-cellar, we offer customers a wine cuisine where emphasis is laid primarily on old Hungarian flavours, combined however with certain dishes of modern cookery as well. Overnight in Budapest.
Day 6

Budapest

Buffet Breakfast. Today you will enjoy a Full Day Danube Bend Tour. Enjoy the city of Esztergom center of the Catholic Church. The basilica, the largest in Hungary, is on Castle Hill, and its 72m-high central dome can be seen for many kilometres around. The building of the present neoclassical church was begun in 1822 on the site of its 12th-century counterpart des-troyed by the Turks. Also you will visit the antique town of Visegrád, the former Royal Residence, with lunch, and the magical Artists’ Village. At the end you discover Szentendre a beautiful riverside town in Pest county known for its museums (most notably the Open-Air Ethnographic Mu-seum), galleries, and artists. During the tour you will be able to see Eszter-gom from another point of view, literally (photostop in Slovakia). And if this is still not enough, get ready to float back to Budapest by boat at the end of the day. The tour ends at the pier in Budapest city center (Return by boat between May 1 - Sept 30.
