Itinerary

Day 1

Sevilla

Upon arrival to Seville Airport you will be welcomed by our driver and then transfer to the hotel. Check-in and rest of the day free to explore the fabulous capital of Andalusia. Seville certainly is one of the most beloved places by visitors to Spain. The streets and squares in the historic quarter of the city are lively and busy. They treasure many constructions that have the World Heritage designation, and many districts are full of traditional culture, like Triana and La Macarena. Museums and art centres, theme parks, cinemas, theatres and clubs are some of the many leisure options that a great city like Seville holds. Without forgetting, of course, the numerous terraces, inns and bars where visitors can practise one of the most deeply-rooted and tasty traditions in the city: "Going out for tapas". The famous celebrations of Easter Week and April Fair (Feria de Abril), which have been declared of National Tourist Interest, reflect the open and friendly character of the city to visitors. On the banks of the Guadalquivir we find the Torre del Oro, of Arab origin, which dates back to the 13th century and was part of the ancient walls. Because of its close relationship to the maritime history of Seville, this tower was chosen to house the Navy Museum. Overnight in Seville.
Day 2

Sevilla

Buffet Breakfast. Today you will have the opportunity to experience the city on your own with the Hop on-Hop off sightseeing tour. Op-tion: supplement for a private panoramic visit instead of the Hop on Hop off sightseeing tour. The years of highest splendour in Seville happened after the discovery of America. During the 16th and 17th century its port was one of the most important in Spain, since it had the monopoly of the foreign trade by sea. Thanks to the trade carried out during that period in Seville, many mansions, stately homes, chur-ches and convents were built. If any one place comes close to rolling together everything that’s quintessentially Andalucian, it’s Seville. The Gothic cathedral stands in the charming Santa Cruz neighbourhood, built on the Great Mosque of Seville. Some of the Arab elements still remain, the old minaret, which is the famous Giralda, and the Orange tree Courtyard. Next to the cathedral you can find the imposing Reales Alcazares Palace (Alcazares Royal Palace), which is also built on the site of a 9th-century Arab fortress, but it was Pedro I the Cruel (14th century) who introduced the Mudejar decoration. Vast gardens, with Arab and Renaissance elements, surround the building. The other monument, the General Archive of the Indies takes us to Spanish Renaissance art. It is one of Europe's most important document cen-tres relating to the conquest of the New World. Another important Renaissance construction in the city is the Casa de Pilatos, a palace which combines Gothic and Mudejar elements with imported Italian Renaissance details. Worth visiting also is the new Metropol Parasol, considered as the world’s largest wooden structure, towers over Soho Benita. Built atop of preserved Roman ruins in a subterranean mu-seum, the complex features restaurants, a market and a rooftop with stunning views of the city. Option: Guadalquivir Cruise (1 hr. approx); Sevilla Walking Tour (1:50 hr. approx). For the daytrips we suggest extra nights in Seville to visit: Italica; Carmona; Granada; Cordoba: Gibraltar; Ronda; Jerez & Cadiz. Overnight in Seville.
