Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival to San Jose
Welcome to the country, meet and great at your hotel in San José.
Day 2
San José/Rain Forest (Full Board)
Breakfast and at the established time transfer to the Rain Forest Lodge next to the Braulio Carrillo National Park. Afternoon at leisure, enjoy the Tram and the several activities at the property.
Day 3
Rain Forest/Tortuguero (Full Board))
At the according time departure to the Tortuguero National Park. On the way, stop for breakfast in a typical restau-rant, also you will pass through a banana plantation while the guide explain you the banana process before expor-tation. Arrive to the port and travel by boat through the canals admiring the splendorous Jungle until arriving at your Lodge for lunch. Afternoon visit to Tortuguero town and the turtle Museum. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge in Tortuguero. (From July to Sept. at night you may take an optional tour)
Day 4
Tortuguero (Full Board)
Breakfast. Today the natural adventure continues on the secondary canals that were not visited the day before, in-cluding some of the National Park itself. Good chances to spot howler monkeys, spider monkeys and white face mon-keys, crocodiles, red frogs and toucans. After lunch, free time at the hotel, boat tour to the canals or a short explora-tion hike on the hotel trails. Overnight in Tortuguero.
DAY 5
Tortuguero/Arenal Volcano (Half Board)
Breakfast and transfer by boat to main land. The microbus will be waiting for you to do the transfer until arriving to the zone of Arenal Volcano. This Volcano has more than 1,600 meters of altitude. During a long time it was considered extinct until in 1968 it made a strong and sudden eruption and destroyed an entire town. If you have a little luck you could see one of the incredible eruptions. This is one of the most active volcanoes of the world.
Day 6
Arenal Volcano (Full Board)
Breakfast, the tour begins at 7:30 am with a visit to the Hanging Bridges of Arenal, a hiking trip through the tropical humid forest that includes 3 kilometers passing 15 bridges from 5 to 100 meters long and up to 60 meters high; an specta cular scenery to see birds, reptiles, mammals and insects. Our next stop is La Fortuna Waterfall. This waterfall has a huge swimming hole with large rocks nearby, perfect for a rest after and invig-orating swim. Then we drive back to town for lunch.
About 3:00 P.M. we start the tour to the volcano. It is a hiking trip through the tropical humid forest for about 45 minutes to get to the lava flow from 1992. You will see a great variety of plants, wildlife, the mag-nificence of Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake. Watch the sunset as we await darkness to see and hear the glowing rocks of lava tumbling down the side of the mountain.
A full active day! Now, put on your bathing suit again to relax in the thermal waters of Tabacón Resort for a few hours and have dinner there.
Day 7
Arenal Volcano/Guanacaste Beach (Breakfast)
Breakfast. Early departure to the Guanacaste Beaches.
Day 8 - 9
Guanacaste Beach (Breakfast)
Breakfast. Days at leisure, enjoy the sun and beaches or just relax at the hotel.
Day 10
Guanacaste Beach/San José (Breakfast)
After breakfast transfer back to San José. Free time in the afternoon for a visit to the city
Day 11
Departure to you country (Breakfast)
Breakfast. At the according time transfer to the Airport for you flight back home
