Itinerary
Day 1
Lima
Upon arriving at the city of Lima, there is a reception and transfer to the selected hotel.
Day 2
Lima
After breakfast, the tour of Lima begins with the historic downtown that was recently declared by UNESCO as a "World Heritage Site" because of its numerous architectural buildings. This represents the strong European Middle Age influence. Important buildings to visit are the Government Palace or "Casa de Pizarro", the Municipal Palace, Lima’s Cathedral, San Francisco church and convent with valuable works of art, stone and wooden structures and the balconies of colonial houses. The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro, and Miraflores. San Isidro has modern apartment buildings and beautiful parks such as El Olivar with olive's trees brought from Spain in the 16th century. Miraflores with its Central Park and Larcomar Shopping Center that overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
Day 3
Lima / Hanga Roa
After breakfast, there is a scheduled transfer from the hotel to the airport to take your flight to Easter Island. Arrival to Easter Island. Reception at Mataveri Airport with flower necklaces. Transfer to Taha Tai Hotel.
Overnight.
Day 4
Hanga Roa - Moai's
In this full day tour, visit the Ahu Vaihu, ceremonial place surrounded by fell down Moais, and the Ahu Akahanga, where the first king of the island was buried. Heading, afterwards, to the Rano Raraku Volcano. Here people carved the giant statues from the volcano's quarry. Here it is possible to observe the different stages in the Moai
construction; in this place lies the biggest Moai in the island, still unfinished, with more than 20 meters long and 200 tons. After that, visit the Ahu Tongariki, the biggest Ahu on the Island with 15 Moais. Finally, expedition to Te Pito Kura, an ancient settlement, and then, finishing the tour at the Anakena Beach to enjoy its warm sea waters. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Lodging.
Day 5
Hanga Roa-Rano Kao Volcano - Orongo - Ahu Akivi - Hanga Roa
Half-day tour to Rano Kao Volcano, which has a large fresh-water lake covered with totora. On the top of the crater
is the Cerimonial Centre of Orongo, where every year the Bird Man or Tangata Manu ceremony is celebrated. There
are more than 100 petroglyphs representing gods. Visit to Ana Kai Tangata, a cavern where many pre-historic
paintings can be seen. In the afternoon, trip to Ahu Akivi, this big platform is formed by 7 Moais, the unique Moais
facing the sea; the Ana Tepahu Caverns and the quarry of Puna Pau, where the Pukaos, top part of the Moais, were
sculpted. Finally, visit to Ahu Tahai. Return to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 6
Hanga Roa
Transfer to Mataveri Airport at the agreed time for the departure flight. Farewell with shell necklaces.
