Upon arriving at Lima, there is a reception and transfer to the selected hotel and overnight.
Day 2
Lima
Breakfast at Hotel. At the scheduled time there is a tour of the city of Lima begins with the historic downtown that was recently declared by UNESCO as a "World Heritage Site" because of its numerous architectural buildings. This represents the strong European Middle Age influence. Important buildings to visit are the Government Palace or “Casa de Pizarro”, the Municipal Palace, Lima’s Cathedral, San Francisco church and convent with valuable works of art and stone and wooden structures and balconies of colonial houses. We will appreciate also “Huaca Pucllana”: a magnificent ceremonial and administrative centre from Lima Culture. The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro, and Miraflores. San Isidro has modern apartment buildings and beautiful parks such as El Olivar with olive's trees brought from Spain in the 16th century and finally Miraflores with its Central Park and Larcomar Shopping Center that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Return to the hotel.
Day 3
Lima - Cusco
After breakfast there is a scheduled transfer from the hotel to the airport to take a flight to Cusco. Upon arriving at Cusco, there is a reception. We will give the traditional welcome with "Mate de Coca" in order to help acclimatization. Rest of the day free to enjoy personal activities.
Day 4
Cusco - Inti Raymi Festival
Breakfast at the hotel. Gather at a specified time for the party to honor the Sun God, is performed in the presence of the Inca, the Willaq Uma or High Priest, Tarpuntay Kallparikuy Wirapirikuq and, like the nobles and representatives of the descendants of the Inca, for which we use three natural and historical settings:
Koricancha (Siege of gold): Cusco's main temple dedicated to the Sun, where it is said was the golden garden (here was performed the first rituals of worship to the Apu Inti Pacha Mama, where were buried large offerings, which evidence found in 1972 are in the Garcilaso Museum.
The Plaza Mayor (former Auqaypata or Warrior Square): In the time of the Incas, in this huge square the ceremony took place unfolded in the great Ushnu (ceremonial platform).
Saqsaywaman (in Quechua words "saqsay" and "waman", which translated into english means "Satiate hawk"). It is 3555 meters above sea level, one kilometer distance from the Inca Qollqanpata neighborhood. Was the Royal House of the Sun and Temple dedicated to Thunders, as Garcilaso. Here since 1944 takes place the center of the Inti Raymi contemporary with an impressive crowd.
Staging HOURS AND DURATION
• 09:00 hrs. Koricancha: Beginning of the staging.
• 11:00 hrs. Auqaypata (Plaza Mayor): The Inka and his royal court, enter through the Inti K'ijllu street.
• 13:30 hrs. Home Staging in the Sacred Plaza Saqsaywaman: With duration of 90 minutes, this hosts New Fire rites, Coca, the offerings of the Four Suyos and the prediction of future times, among others.
Day 5
Cusco - Machu Picchu
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the sacred city and wonder of the world, Machu Picchu, visit the ruins full of mystery such as Reloj Solar (watch sun), The Temple of the three windows, the circular tower. All this surrounded by a beautiful and breathtaking landscape of mountains and forests. In the afternoon we descend to Aguas Calientes and have free time for lunch (included).
Return by train to Cusco for overnight.
Day 6
Cusco - Lima
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your return flight to CUSCO - LIMA, then conexion with your internacional flight.
