Half day excursion to the colonial Lima, visiting the Cathedral, the main square, Government Palace and other interesting attractions of Lima downtown. After pass by several Colonial buildings, will arrive to the modern and residential district of San Isidro where will find numerous parks, including the Olivar San Isidro set in an olive grove.
Continue to the "garden districts" of Lima, characterized by their green areas and lively commerce. Here are the best restaurants, hotels and entertainment centers of Lima. While San Isidro maintains of the solemnity of the luxurious suburb it used to be, Miraflores is the city’s modern district, brimming with shops, restaurants, cafes, wide avenues and an active nightlife.

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Cuzco. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel.

In the afternoon the half-day city tour begins. It will be shown the exact centre of the Inca empire, the Plaza de Armas. There one can find the cathedral built on the ruins of the ancient Inca Palace. The cathedral borders on other churches on both sides. Next stop will be the old town with its magnificent renovated colonial buildings, some of them are being used as hotels. Then proceed to Sacsayhuaman, a ruin located approx. 3 km above Cuzco. Sacsayhuaman also offers a fabulous view of the city. Stops in Tambo Machay, the bath of the Inca, Kenko, the giant rock whose niches and gaps were carved in a strange way, and Puca Pucara, the ruin of a small fort.

 DAY 04    PISAC – OLLANTAYTAMBO

Day free for leisure – the following optional can be booked with our local SAT office:
Optional full day excursion to visit the Pisac Indian Market and the ruins of Ollantaytambo including lunch. Pisac is located about 30 kilometres from Cuzco in the Sacred Valley on the shore of the river Urubamba, a source river of the Amazon. Here the famous Indian market takes place. Lunch will be served in a restaurant in the Urubamba valley. In the afternoon the tour proceeds to Ollantaytambo, where you will visit the massive buildings of the Incas.
Return to your hotel in Cuzco.

 DAY 05     MACHU PICCHU

- Full day Machu Picchu tour

On today's program is a day tour to visit the ruin town Machu Picchu. The tour starts in a train that climbs the mountain in zigzag slopes and then rattles down into the fertile plain of the Urubamba valley, passes Ollantaytambo and goes on to Aguas Calientes. From here small busses drive up the steep mountain to the ruins.
Machu Picchu is commonly seen as the refuge that was known only to very few persons and was hidden to the Spaniards. Other theories say that Machu Picchu served as an observatory, which is confirmed by the latest founds.

Extensive guided visit of the site.
Return to Cuzco by train (without guide), transfer to the hotel.

 DAY 06    CUZCO - JULIACA - PUNO

A full day bus tour from Cuzco to Puno is the next program point. During the ride through the Peruvian highland group will drive along snow-covered peaks, pass up to 4.300 m above sea level and then go down to Puno, which is right on the Titicaca lake. On route we will visit the town of Andahuaylillas, the ruins of Racchi, the small town of Pucara besides another Inca remains. Lunch in a typical restaurant en route is included. After arrival in Puno transfer to your hotel.

 DAY 07    PUNO – LAKE TITICACA - LA PAZ

Early in the morning we will visit the Uros Indians, famous for living on their floating islands. Afterwards bus transfer to Copacabana, probably the most important place of pilgrimage in Latin America, which also gave the name to the famous beach in Rio de Janeiro. Here we will board a Catamaran, which will take us over the Titicaca lake to the Island of the Sun which belongs to Bolivia. According to the legend this was the home of the Sun God. Lunch will be served on board. In the afternoon the tour continues by catamaran until Chua and from there by bus to La Paz, the highest metropolis on earth (ca. 4.000 meters).

 DAY 08    LA PAZ

In the morning the program starts with a city tour through La Paz which was founded in 1548 by Captain Alonzo de Mendoza. Today the city is the seat of the government. The city has a lot of very well kept buildings from colonial times and in the narrow lanes of the old town the picturesque Indian market still takes place.
A nice visit to a geological scurrility of mother nature takes us through the chic suburbs of La Paz to the Moon Valley in the valley of the La Paz river. Wind and rain have formed in millions of years a moon landscape that one just has to visit.

After breakfast you will visit the most important sites during a city tour. You will drive to the Plaza de Mayo, with the Casa Rosada, the pink house, seat of the government, the Cabildo (town hall) and the Metropolitan Cathedral, home of the Archbishop of Buenos Aires. The tour goes onto the district San Telmo. Until 1888 this part of the city was a river port, today San Telmo is one of the most modern and desired places to live in Buenos Aires. The worker district La Boca is famous for its colourful tin-houses and its history as living district of Italian seamen and dock workers in the 19th century. The Barrio Norte called Recoleta is the quarter of the rich of Buenos Aires. On the cemetery of Recoleta one will find the grave of Eva Duarte who became famous as Evita Perón. Continue along the widest avenue in the world, the Avenida 9 de Julio, and continue to the Plaza Lavalle with the Federal Court of Justice and the Teatro Colón, to Palermo with its parks and gardens and back to the hotel.

 DAY 11    BUENOS AIRES

Optional full day visit of a typical argentine Estancia inclusive lunch After a 2 hours drive to Los Cardales guests will reach the Estancia, where they will be welcomed by Gauchos with a drink. There is time to visit the Estancia and the daily life of the Gauchos will be explained. Then follows a rustic Barbecue (Asado) lunch with lots of fine meat and sausages. The Gaucho is one of the best known cultural symbols of Argentina. This rough, strong cowboy of the Pampa is seen as the perfect incorporation of the national character. During the Fiesta Gaucha guests will experience these men's agility with their horses on the Estancia. In the late afternoon transfer back to Buenos Aires. (this excursion is subject to reconfirmation)

Optional visit in the evening of a Tango Show incl. dinner at the Viejo Almacen (up to 09 pax no local guide accompanies this tour; from 10 pax there is a local guide accompanying the group)

Transfer to the airport and flight to Iguazu. After arrival, group will visit the Argentine side of the waterfalls. While on the Brazilian side of the falls one can enjoy a better panoramic view, the Argentinean side offers paths leading very closely to the different waterfalls.
The first stop is at the Visitor’s Centre and proceeding from there to the Inferior Circuit, the down-river falls, and then to the Superior Circuit, the up-river cascades. Taking the Ecological Jungle Train that leads visitors to and from the most impressive observation point of the falls – The Devil´s Throat. Return to the hotel on the Brazilian side.

 DAY 13    IGUASSU - RIO DE JANEIRO

In the morning group will explore the Brazilian falls, which are just a few minutes walk away from the hotel. Walking along the 1.500 meters long paths following cascades and then walking along the catwalk that leads very close to the bottom of the Devil’s Throat, the guests will enjoy magnificent views. There is also an elevator for those wishing to view and shoot the falls from the top.
Afterwards, transfer to the airport and flight to Rio de Janeiro.
Upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro transfer from the airport of the Hotel.

 DAY 14    RIO DE JANEIRO

In the morning the guests will be shown during a half day city tour the most important sights of Rio. Driving along Guanabara Bay and Flamengo Park as far as downtown. Visit of the downtown area, passing by the financial and business centre and by other attractions such as the Candelaria Church, Saint Sebastian Cathedral, Lapa Arches, Municipal Theatre, National Library, Fine Arts Museum, and by the Sambadrome, site of Rio’s famous Carnival parade. Proceeding to the Urca District to board a cable car for a two-staged ascent up Sugar Loaf Mountain.

The afternoon is free for leisure. The following optional can be booked with our local SAT office:
Optional half day visit to the Corcovado.
Another famous symbol of Rio de Janeiro - the Corcovado, the hunch-backed peak surmounted by a 38m high statue of Christ the Redeemer. After a short drive through the old and the modern Rio de Janeiro guests will visit the Corcovado by taking the cog railway which will lead to the top. After leaving the small train station one still has to climb 220 steps to the top in order to enjoy a spectacular view of Rio.

1. Departure is guaranteed with a minimum of 02 participants. The operation of the tour can only be guaranteed by the end of the cancellation deadline, which is 46 days prior to departure.

2. All transfers and excursions are on private basis incl. local English speaking guides. Exceptions (valid for Seat-in-coach as well as for private basis tour): the bus transfers Aguas Calientes/Machu Picchu/Aguas Calientes, Cuzco/Puno, Puno/Copacabana and Chua/La Paz are on Seat-in basis. The Catamaran crossing is on Seat-in basis.

3. Ole.Travel can provide upon request the booking of the internal flights. In this case Ole.Travel will invoice you for the flight tickets. Ole.Travel is also in charge of issuing these tickets which will be delivered to the clients locally.
